Ashby, Frank Stephen, Driver, 110098, Royal Army Service Corps
Frank was the third son of Percy (1883-1955) and Ethel Margaret (née Morris, 1885-1957) Ashby. His brothers were John Eric (1913-1985), Sydney Morris (1914-2005) and Christopher (1925-1979). Ethel came from Warwickshire but married Percy in 1911 in Derby. By 1939, the family (including Frank) were living at 11 Kirkleys Avenue, Spondon. They were near neighbours of Geoffrey Bamford and his family.
Frank married Kathleen Till (1919-1973) in 1941 and they had one son, Alan Stephen (b.1945). Ten years after Frank’s death, she married Alec Williamson. Frank died in Derby Borough Isolation Hospital on 12 January 1947 and was buried 3 days later in Spondon Cemetery (Grave 1129).
